Early Learning: Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 3 OCDEL

The overall purpose of assessment, regardless of age, is to help teachers make appropriate instructional decisions about how to best teach children. The principles and philosophy of assessment that we often apply to young children are part of a continuum that begins at birth and extends through kindergarten to third grade.
